Hey Josh,

ATV safety is extremely important and it's not just your age and height that are a deciding factor in choosing the right ATV, it's also your weight and riding experience. My best advice is to start out by reviewing your local riding laws to see what you are allowed to ride, what training you may need for the area, safety rules that may include engine size maximums etc. I wrote a basic article about ATV Safety a while back here - ATV Safety - and it still has valid links to the organizations which govern the sport of ATV riding for minors. CPSC and NSC.org have solid information as does the government ATV safety website linked from that article.

I wish I could recommend an ATV but no two riders are exactly alike and finding the right ATV for YOU is important. Good luck!

Hey, I'm 14 years old and about 5 foot 3, which ATV would be good for me? This would be my first ATV but I have experience on dirtbikes (crf150) and some ATVs (yfz 450, raptor 350, TRX 450, Wolverine 450). Any help?
