ATV Safety

by Nick Harris on Dec 23

I know I touched on ATV safety last memorial day but since summer is right around the corner here is an kids ATV safety refresher.

Some ATV safety tips: - Don’t remove child safety equipment from kids ATVs, those speed limiters save lives. - Don’t tell your child they are the best ATV riders in the world, they might believe you and get hurt, have their foot run over or possibly run into a tree or other rider. Instead let them know to always be mindful of their surroundings, be a nag when you need to be! - Take the time to get the required permits, the laws are clear in California. No excuses. - Make sure your child wears proper safety gear at all times. - Give the machine a proper ATV tuneup if it’s been idle over the winter including replacing the flag/pole/mount if it’s damaged. - Be responsible when children are near by, they tend to mimic the ones they love. - Have fun, show your kids a good time can be had without massive air or crazy roosts.

I’d also like to remind you to respect the environment and take your trash with you when you leave, ATV riding is a massively popular past time but a few bad eggs can ruin trails and dunes for everyone. Ride safe.
