ATV Projects Book – Get the Most Out of Your All-Terrain Vehicle.

This 112 page illustrated ATV book was authored by Len Nelson and published in January of 2005 by the MBI Publishing Company.

The first thing I noticed when reading this book was the well laid out contents page that is broken down into three main sections. Section one titled “On The Job” covers ATV project topics ranging from simple shop upkeep to more in depth quad projects like installing custom handle grips (project #7 – Adding heated grips).

Section two titled “On The Trail” maps out topics that provide ideas and guides that help get the most from your ATV while out on the trails. If you’ve never used a Winch Len goes into details about proper procedures to keep you safe and get the job done, it’s not as simple as you might imagine and this section alone is worth the price of the book.

Section three titled “On The Hunt” provides ideas and examples on how to incorporate your ATV more effectively while you’re out hunting. I particularly liked the chapter on how to prepare and take your ATV ice fishing. Len has spent a lot of time around ATVs and it shows in his well written, clear approach to no-nonsense straight foreward good old fashioned ATV how-to.

This book describes how to do perform many popular mods to your Quad or ATV including bolting on ATV accessories like racks. You’ll also find basic maintenance tips and performance mods for your ATV exhaust, suspension, and drive-train. Len Nelson, the author of this ATV book, is a long time editor of ATV Rider magazine. He has also worked for Motorcycle Online and several motorcycle magazines. Len is a first-rate writer and photographer from North Carolina.

I’m going to give this ATV book a solid 4.5 out of 5 rating and say that it should definitely have a spot on your favorite bookshelf (or within arms reach of the toilet like where it’s been for a week in my house!).
